Ruby Chawla, the daughter of Satinder Chawla and Hardeep Chawla of Newport News, Va., was married in Virginia Beach yesterday to Prasad Hedge, a son of Sumathi Hedge and Dr. Ramananda Hedge of Sydney, Australia. Amarjit Singh, a Sikh priest, officiated at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.
Mrs. Hedge, 30, works in New York as the divisional merchandise manager for the United States unit of the French Connection, the clothing company. She graduated with distinction from George Mason University. Her father teaches math at Hampton Roads Academy in Newport News. Her mother is a nutritionist with the Health Department of Newport News.
Mr. Hedge, 36, works in New York as the managing director of the business strategy division of Ariba, management and technology consultants in Sunnyvale, Calif. He graduated from Amherst and received an M.B.A. from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. His mother, a retired child psychologist, practiced in Sydney. His father is a general practitioner in private practice, also in Sydney.
