Charged with hit-and-run

Britney Spears has been charged with hit-and-run and driving without a valid license. The charges, which each carry a utmost a penalty of six months in prison and a $1,000 fine, stem from an event in a private car park. Britney Spears is accused of hitting a parked car and driving away. Britney Spears Representatives for Britney were not immediately available for comment. She was sent a letter on Friday, notifying her of the charges. A hearing, which the troubled singer does not have to attend, has been set for October 10.
