Former “American Idol” contestant Kellie Pickler is engaged. Songwriter Kyle Jacobs proposed to Kellie Pickler on a beach in Florida at sunset on June 15.

“It turned out to be the most amazing day of my life,” the fifth-season “Idol” contestant told the mag. “My whole world changed. We both feel like we got my grandmother’s blessing.”

“I remember saying to Kyle, ‘Baby it’s like I’m dreaming – but if this isn’t real, I’m going to be very upset!’” she continued.

“Afterward, we just held each other and had the most beautiful prayer,” Kyle Jacobs said. “We had a little champagne and talked and laughed and cried.”

According to Kellie Pickler, her future groom has helped her grow when it comes to relationships.

“Kyle took away all my fear of marriage and has shown me the way love is supposed to be,” she explained. “I’m in the happiest place I’ve ever been.”

Kellie Pickler and Kyle Jacobs, who have known each other for over two years, have not said when they plan to walk down the aisle.
